Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news website, is a television personality as well as a writer and an philanthropist. Her birthplace was in Greece and relocated to England when she was sixteen. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA of Economics. As the first foreign student to hold the position of president in the prestigious debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took over the position. After the graduation ceremony, she became an influential conservative syndicated journalist. In the years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current politics. It was her celebrity that led to the recruitment of a number of famous contributors who shared their views on current events as well as politics and culture. Arianna's celebrity status was first noticed in 2003 when she was a candidate for an independent for the California recall vote to replace then-Governor Davis. In addition to this, she led the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. She was named one of the Most Popular Women in Media according to Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th place in that list. That same year Guardian included her in the Top 100 Media List. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her head of its media division and also included several the other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter of Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as a journalist. Though she shared a close connection to both her father and mother, it was their bond that shaped her. In 1972 she graduated with a master's degree in Economics. In the years following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic and a host on TV. In addition, she appeared alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editing assistance.
