Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She is the author of fifteen books. She is also the co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an author and philanthropist as well as a television host and the owner of the independent liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England together with her family around age 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. Her popularity as a conservative journalist was further consolidated when she graduated. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few year later, she established an online voice-portal that provided critiques of the politics. Her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna became famous after she was elected as an independent in California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. Alongside this, she led a Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. Forbes listed her as the top woman in media in the year 2009. She ranked 12th on the listing. The Guardian also included her on the list of top 100 media for 2009. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her president of that media company, which also included a number of then-existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and manager Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos.
