Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946 into a very low-income family, with twelve kids at one point, realized that she could escape suffering through her imaginative mind. Before she learned to write and read Dolly Parton was composing her own songs. The first guitar she received was gifted to her at the age of eight. She started singing at a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. That same year she made her debut recording for Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. In high school, she made her name locally but dreamed about an even bigger stage. After graduating from high school in 1964 she moved immediately to Nashville. Her first charting hits on Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Around this time, Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on his syndicated television show. Parton began her career in 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. Then, in 1974, she left The Wagoner's Show due to the popularity of her own songs such as Joshua Coats from Many Colors or Jolene was way ahead of their joint release. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their relationship with Wagoner she wrote the song"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and saw it climb to Number. The first time it reached No. 1 was 1974.
